The FR-D, originally introduced as the very first model dedicated to RWD drift in an FR (front motor) layout, returns in its 7th generation under the name FR-D7.

The FR-D7 heavily builds on the concept of the original FR-D, while incorporating around 80% of the main parts that have been completely redesigned and re-engineered.

Moving away from the traditional conversion kit format, it is now offered as a “Core Kit”: it is not a complete kit, but a much more comprehensive and advanced base.

TheFR-D7 represents the7th generation of the famous FR-D chassis, a pioneer of theFR (Front Motor / Rear Drive)concept in RC drift.

This new version retains the DNA of the original model while incorporating a major redesign with around80% of parts completely redeveloped, delivering an even higher level of performance and realism.

The move to theCore Kit format marks an important evolution: it is no longer just a simple conversion kit, but a complete technical platform, designed to be customized with your own components.

Thefront motor + 4-gear transmission + center shaft configuration faithfully reproduces the dynamics of a real car, with very natural handling:

→ progressive weight transfer

→ precise steering

→ realistic rear traction

Key features:

• Short10 V2 main chassis : New design to maximize flex, 2.0 mm thickness.

• Wheelbase adjustment : 245-260 mm, compatible with Addiction real-grade bodies.

• Optimized transmission mounting position : Approximately 40 mm rearward compared to the front for better mass balance.

• Adjustable motor layout : LOW (15 degrees), MID (45 degrees), and HI (70-90 degrees), with fine angle adjustment possible.

• Torque options : Can be switched between positive torque and anti-torque specifications by changing the motor mounts and left/right gears.

• Carbon upper deck : Two-piece structure with 2.0 mm thickness for a flexible motor layout.

• Battery mount : Horizontal high-mount short LiPo type, same specification as the FR-D V6.

• Newly designed shock tower : Lightweight high-upper slide rack, VX-DOCK 2.5 slide steering system with 3D movable mechanism as standard equipment.

• Bevel gears : Combination of steel and machined POM specifications to reduce noise and transmission loss.

• Suspension : Compliant with the YD-2 standard, using suspension mounts for YD-2 or YD-2-compatible models.

The complete package also includes the VX Gear Bulk Ver.2 and the Dual Composite V3 rear shock tower.
