How to make a body?

Carrying out a body for a radio -controlled car (RC) can be an exciting project. It allows you to personalize your vehicle to your liking. You will need certain supplies and a little patience. Here is a step -by -step guide on how to make a RC body:

Necessary materials:

  1. RC body in polycarbonate/lexan
  2. Polycarbonate special spray painting TAMIYA or CREATEX airbrush painting available on the DriftParadiz.fr website
  3. Masking band
  4. Modelism scissors
  5. Ramper and dishwashing liquid or body cleaner TAMIYA

Steps:

  1. Preparation : Start by cleaning the polycarbonate body with a soft cloth and dishwashing liquid or body cleaner TAMIYA To remove any oil or dirt. Let dry or use a hair dryer, never use a cloth at the risk of leaving residues in the body.
  2. Masking : Use the masking band to cover the areas you don't want to paint right away. You will have to paint by layers, starting with the smallest and clearest details.
  3. Paint : Remember that you paint inside the body, so the design must be done upside down. Once you have finished hiding, you can start painting. Be sure to shake the can of paint properly before using it. Spray the paint in thin and uniform layers. Do not try to cover everything in a single layer. It is best to make several thin layers rather than a single thick layer. After painting an area, remove the masking band while the paint is still wet to avoid tearing the paint.
  4. Drying and finish : Let each paint layer dry completely before applying the next layer. Once you have finished painting and the paint is completely dry, you can remove all the remaining masking. Then you can cut and mount the body on your RC car.

Remember that making a RC body requires patience and practice. Do not hesitate to experiment with different paint and design techniques to get the look you want.
