Application
UVL varnishes can be applied to the pistol, airbrush or traditional brush.
Pistol: 1.3mm - 1.4mm
Mini-Pistolet: 1.2mm
Follow the PSI recommendations of the pistol manufacturer.
Aterograph: 0.5mm ~ 20 - 25 psi
Apply the UVL varnish in moderately humid layers, using a 50/50 overlap pattern.
A blanket without a pin hole is obtained with 3 medium layers.
Apply medium, moistened layers so that they appear shiny during the application but not so much matter as the "brain" layer, that is to say that it seems troubled due to an excess of matter.
Each layer must be ~ 0.5 - 0.75 MIL. humid.
If the layer seems troubled, allow prolonged drying time.
Avoid over atomization; The varnishes are better applied to lower PSI settings for better adhesion and a higher level of shine of the GLOSS 4050. Dry sprayed layers will lose shine and adhesion.
Puncting of the underlying paint is not necessary.
When applying the Clear 4050 gloss as an adhesive primer, punct the substrate dry with glass paper from 400 to 800.
Clean the sanded substrate with a solvent -based degreaser, not a water -based cleaner, before applying the Clear 4050 gloss.
Drying and hardening time
Estimated drying and hardening times are set at 70⁰F (21⁰C) and 50 % or less relative humidity (HR). Provide prolonged drying times during painting in colder temperatures or wet conditions. It is not recommended to paint at temperatures below 60⁰F (15⁰C).
The recovery times are about 10 to 15 minutes.
Let the varnishes dry until you get a mat (un humid) appearance.
There are no time windows, in case of doubt, allow prolonged drying time.
The time before masking is 45 to 60 minutes after application.
During the direct application on difficult substrates, allow prolonged drying times, up to 48 hours for substrates such as polished stainless steel which is not sanded for the preparation of paint.
Puning the varnish is not necessary when masking UVL varnishes ~ 48 hours after the application. After 48 hours, UVL varnishes harden to form a hard coating. The adhesive tape and the masking film arise better when the varnish is sunk with glass paper from 600 to 800 grains.
Do not use heat to force drying as it can cause loss of grip. Use hot air to help in drying time.
Let dry in the air for a minimum of 6 hours before sanding and polishing. The full cure is more than 48 hours after the application.
Storage
UVL varnishes have no lifespan after mixing with a reducer. However, as reducers 4011 promote drying and hardening, only reduce varnish intended to be applied in a period of 12 hours for better consistency of spray, flow and leveling.
Keep the varnish well closed in the open air when they are not poured from the bottle. Stick them away from direct light in a fresh and dark environment, such as a paint cupboard or a box in a cupboard.
Compatibility
UVL varnishes are compatible as a varnish or primer with any Createx paint.
Compatible as a finish or primer layer for other types of paints, water -based and solvent -based.
Always let the paint dry completely before covering it with a uvl varnish.
The Clear 4053 gloss works better on Candy2o when applied in 2 sessions to reach the highest level of shine. Apply 2 to 3 layers of 4053 on Candy2o, allow to dry in the air for a minimum of 4 hours, then apply 2 to 3 other layers of 4053. A sanding of the first application of 4053 before applying other layers is not necessary, unless more than 48 hours of drying in the air are authorized, in this case, dry sanding with glass paper of 600 optimal membership.
